DRL Conversion Kit for Volvo FH5, Aero & FM5
DRL conversion for Volvo FH5, FH5 Aero & FM5 model year 2021 and onwards.
Available in several different colours: amber, xenon white, warm white, and only 1 strip in amber, “Amber USA”. Also available in dual colour: xenon white/warm white and amber with strobe light.
Fits both LED and halogen headlights. All light sources of course have original connectors, making installation quick and easy.
Installation:
- Tilt your cab so the headlights are easily accessible.
- Remove the plastic cover that covers the back of the lamps.
- Remove the heat sinks from the headlights.
- Disconnect the connectors from the original light sources.
- Remove the original light sources from the heat sinks. This can be done with a small screwdriver, for example.
- Clean the surface thoroughly from the old thermal paste.
- Apply the included thermal paste in an even, thin layer on the cooling plates where the new light source will be fitted.
- Press the new light source firmly onto the heat sink.
- Carefully bend the wings marked with arrows so that they press against the cooling plates.
- Connect the connector to the light source.
- Reinstall all parts.
Dual Colour & Strobe Light:
Dual Colour makes it possible to switch between xenon white, warm white and amber DRL light. Six DIP switches make it possible to adjust how the different functions behave.
Please note DIP5 in particular, which allows you to choose the colour temperature of the white light: warm white 2700K or xenon white 6000K. The dual colour strobe remains amber regardless of setting.
The kit consists of 2 control units, 4 light modules and wiring to connect everything together. An additional manual is included for installation of the dual colour version.
DIP 1 + DIP 2: Warning light mode, 4 modes in total
DIP 3: Split warning light, both strips flash at the same time or alternately
DIP 4: Dual colour warning light, flashes both white and amber
DIP 5: Warm white DRL instead of xenon white
DIP 6: Indicator mode, indicate only with the lower strip or with both strips
