DRL LED Position Light Conversion Kit for Scania NextGen
DRL/position light conversion for Scania S-Series & R-Series Next Generation, model year 2016 and onwards. Supplied as a set with LED plates for both headlights.
Available in the following colours: amber, warm white, xenon white, yellow, and xenon white & amber with strobe light.
Only fits LED headlights. Does not fit halogen headlights.
Installation, set with only 1 colour:
Remove 2 screws on the inside of the door and 2 screws next to the headlight to be able to angle the headlight out. Then remove the plastic around the headlight, which is held in place with screws.
The LED plates are located at the bottom of the headlight behind the light adjustment. Loosen the light adjustment and unscrew the cooling plate, then the LED plate can be replaced. Disconnect the connector, unscrew the black plastic piece on the circuit board and remove it. Then install the new one using the included thermal paste on the back.
Strobe light & dual-colour – Xenon white & amber with strobe:
There is a 6 metre cable on the light plate with M8 connectors, which must be connected to the included control unit. The controller manages the two colours and automatically switches them off when you activate the flashing light.
To control the controller, there is an output cable with 4 wires:
Negative: Grey cable
Positive for white position light: White cable
Positive for amber position light: Black cable
Positive for flashing light: Brown cable
Installation, strobe light & dual-colour:
Remove the original DRL plates from the heat sink in the headlights. Place the original DRL plates on the included heat sinks using the included bolts and nuts. Remember to use thermal paste between the plate and the heat sink.
Move the connector and cable to the centre of the headlight, behind the large plastic cover. Reconnect the original DRL plate. Position the DRL plate so that it does not shine too much inside the headlight and so that the LEDs do not touch anything. Secure the emitter with cable ties.
Install the dual-colour DRL plates on the original heat sink. Remember to use thermal paste. Cut the cable at a suitable point and route it through a cable gland or similar to the outside of the lamp. This can be done through the large plastic cover, for example, and then the cable can be joined inside the lamp.
Then connect the M8 connector to the control box for the strobe light.
