Blind Caps DRL Scania NextGen
Blind plugs/caps that allow for the deactivation of the DRL light on Scania models from 2016 and onwards. Perfect if you want to upgrade to other lighting, such as reflector lights.
With these plugs, the DRL light remains active, but no light is transmitted through the fiber optics in the headlamp. It is not possible to completely remove the DRL light without causing errors in the lamp monitoring system (canbus/incandescent bulb control), making these blind plugs the perfect solution.
The plugs are easily mounted over the original electronics using the included screws and washers.
Installation:
Removing the lamp: The screws holding the lamp in place are inside the doors. Unscrew them to angle out the lamp. Remove the plastic cover surrounding the lamp, which is screwed in around the entire lamp.
Remove the emitter: The DRL lamp emitter is located at the lower outer edge. Start by loosening the lamp adjustment and then pull out the emitter by first removing the large heat sink.
Install the aluminum caps: Disconnect the connector by pressing the lock. The large black cover on the emitter is removed. Place the two included aluminum plates on top, making sure to use the included washers. The plates are mounted with the included 10mm M3 screws, with the plate that has holes placed closest to the LED diodes.
Reassembly: Reconnect the connector and assemble the lamp in reverse order.
With this solution, you can easily upgrade your DRL lamps without affecting the vehicle's system or causing warning errors.
